HOW IT WORKS-Using natures own oxidation process, the tank stores a bubble of air, compressed by your well pressure, within the airmaster tank, As your water passes through the air, the iron or hydrogen sulfide is converted to a particle, which is then trapped by the filter media in the airmaster tank while the air bubble is gradually consumed by the passing water. For backwashing & regenerating, the unit first backwashes itself, removing any iron or hydrogen sulfide it has trapped. The system then replenishes the air bubble by drawing in air from the atmosphere, temporarily emptying the tank of all water and transferring oxygen molecules into the surface of the media bed (in the airmaster tank) where all oxidation occurs. Then the airmaster system returns to the service position to refresh and clean your water.
